Tell Me 04:20
Tell Me – Michael Stirtz Tell me once more, you wouldn’t change a thing Tell me once more, you’d still pick me out of a crowd Tell me once more, you’d still fall for me Tell me once more… On a stressful night just before their wedding day Filled (left) with doubt she asked him if he loved here the same Could he look into her eyes and smile the same way he did The first time he told her of all the feelings he had Do you still see, the same woman you thought I’d turn out to be? Beyond his assurance she still needed something more Can you still speak to me the words you had spoken before? A year gone away with the rings upon their hands Honeymoon’s over and now reality sinks in Will the vows they spoke before be lived with care? Will the habits they form help their burdens to bare? Do you still see the same person you thought I’d turn out to be? Beyond the assurance they still need something more Can you still speak to me the words you’ve spoken before? © 2013 Michael Stirtz

Completely (Wrapped in You) - Michael Stirtz Was I disillusioned, or was I deceived? Thinking the corners of my life, revolved around me Pursued You for my sake, loved You half-heartedly Never occurred in my mind, Your absence’s disparity When You took my heart, I didn’t know You wanted all So many were the parts I tried to hide When I gave my hand, I didn’t know You meant my life Would be fully, completely wrapped in You Now I see clearly, at least on my better days I’ve swallowed the red pill; I’m aware of reality My life is for Your sake, for mine your life You paid So rising from this slumber, I give what’s blood-bought Yours When You took my heart, I didn’t know You wanted all Now I give the parts I try to hide When I gave my hand, I didn’t know it meant my life Would be fully completely wrapped in You To be fully, completely wrapped in You

Forgetful Me 04:17
Forgetful Me - Michael Stirtz I try some days on my own Without even knowing I am I talk to You, read about You Write my thoughts down Without ever loosening my heart I keep my affections for me I know what it’s like to surrender to You To go and abandon myself You prompt me, I say “yes” and forgetting my fears My hands do what I cannot believe Your work is accomplished through me Forgetful me…forgetful me If I feared You, my delight would be in You alone Bad news would only be met with joy As a chance to see You care for me I’d see You there, as before, faithfully Forgetful me…forgetful me I’ve forgotten Your love for me And Your faithfulness to me All the seasons of my life serve to remind me Of all that You can do Still with my tendencies to forget All I can say to You Is, “forgive me” for I do forget How great is Your love for me And Your faithfulness to me

This is Where - Michael Stirtz This is where I lay me down This is where I set my heart at Your feet And worship You with my life This is where I give my all This is where I give what’s left of myself May it glorify Your Name This is where I count the cost This is where I count my gains all as loss Compared to Your greatness Lord This is where I take my cross This is where I die to my former self And embrace Your abundant life

Remind Me 03:11
Remind - Michael Stirtz Remind me of truth For the world is loud Remind me of You For the picture that I hold is fading with age Remind me why I’ve wrestled all this time To be close to You Remind me how to see Remind me of truth For the lines drawn in my head are starting to blur Remind me of You For the window of my heart is glazing over Remind me how all that I hold It won’t satisfy Remind me how to see
8.

He Leadeth Me Intro: C-F-Am-F-G C F He leadeth me, O blessed thought C Am G O words with heavenly comfort fraught C F What er’ I do wher’re I be C Am G C Still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me C G F C He leadeth me, He leadeth me C Am C G By His own hand He leadeth me C G F C His faithful follower I would be C Am G C For by His hand He leadeth me Sometimes ‘mid scenes of deepest gloom Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom By waters still, o’er troubled sea Still ‘tis His hand that leadeth me And when my task on earth is done When by Thy grace, Thy victorys won Even death’s cold wave I will not flee Since God through Jordan leadeth me Tag: C-F-Am-F-G The hands that formed the earth The hands that gave me worth The hands that I hold are leading me The hands that spread the stars The hands pierced by nails (that bear the scars) The hands that I hold are leading me The hands spread out wide To every nation, tongue and tribe The hands that I hold are leading me Lead on… I know it’s not safe, but Your hands are good Although it’s not safe, I know Your hands are good

about

This project was created in two stages (three, if you count the season of life when these songs were written). I was privileged to have a day of recording with some very good friends Nate Hart and Jason G at our church one day in 2009. Jason and I sat in the sanctuary and Nate would hit the record button in his office and we played. Most of the songs were one-take only. This leads to the “live” feel of the album. The rest of the songs were recorded in Nate’s office. I was excited about how it turned out, but the guys thought I should add more before releasing it. So, the project sat in my computer files for years.

This summer, I had the idea of pulling it out and seeing what I could add to it. It’s been a really good journey of being reminded of God’s faithfulness through the years (hence the title). It was also the first time I’d taken something already recorded and put it on my Tascam and added to it. I couldn’t change anything on the original which was incredibly freeing. I can’t think of a project I’ve enjoyed making more than this one. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for your interest in my music.
